CHIPPEWA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

SPECIAL COUNTY BOARD MEETING , NOVEMBER 6, 2000

The Chippewa County Board of Commissioners met in special session On Monday, November 6, 2000 at 5:30 p.m. in the Circuit Courtroom of the Chippewa County Courthouse, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan with Chairman Gary McDowell presiding.

Present: Commissioners — Cooper, Dale, Hopper, La Postula, Kay and Chairman McDowell.

Also Present: Chief Deputy Diane Cork, E-9l1 Director Dennis Koback, Bruce Rye and Lt. Terry Harris.

Correspondence was received from Radio North LLC regarding UPS (Unlimited Power Supply)and Generators and it was recommended by Dennis Koback, E—911 Director to accept the bid as presented. Discussion followed.

It was suggested that by working with Mary Piralli, System Specialist, that the County could save approximately $3000. It was recommended that the bid from Radio North LLC be tabled.

It was moved by Commisioner Kay, supported by Commissioner Hopper that Dennis Koback work with Mary Piralli and that she be given consideration provided that the specs are exactly the same. Motion carried.

It was moved by Commissioner Kay, supported by Commissioner Hopper to accept the bid from Graham Motor Generator Inc. for supplies only, the generator with no installation. The cost of the generator and transfer switch is $14,175.00. On a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously.

It was moved by Commissioner Kay, supported by Commissioner Postula to accept the bid from Great Lakes Electric to supply a complete turn key response at a cost of $4,604. On a roll call vote, motion carried.

Lt. Terry Harris, Michigan State Police briefed the Commissioners on the State Police towers. Seven towers are up with about eight months to a year before they are running. It was suggested by Commissioner Dale that the county could use the towers and that County pursue the matter to get a better response from the State Police.

It was moved by Commissioner Kay, supported by Commissioner Postula to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
