The County Department ofSocial Services is a state-administered agency responsible for providing a wide array of financial assistance and social services to county citizens. The County Department receives advice and consultation from a three member County Board of Social Services, which serve staggered three year terms. Two members of the Social Services Board are appointed by the Chippewa county Board of Commissioners; the third is appointed by the Governor.
