Chippewa County Probate Court records start in 1828. Many people find Probate Court records very useful in tracing their ancestry. With the exception of Adoption records, all Probate Court records are open to the public. In addition, the Probate Court is required to keep all records.

Individuals interested in searching the Probate Court records should come to the court to search our indexes for the names of the individuals that they are seeking information on. Once the name is located, the records will be pulled for inspection.

Copies of documents in the court's file may be obtained at the cost of one dollar ($1.00) per page.
